New RiME dev diary: how to make a remarkable puzzle game

The latest RiME production diary from Grey Box, Six Foot and independent developer Tequila Works takes a deep dive into making a puzzle adventure game that’s accessible and intuitive while still feeling fun and rewarding.

At the heart of this process was designing environments and challenges that reveal information to the player through the exploration of quieter features like light, sound, perspective, and time rather than simple text prompts. These subtler traits build over the course of the journey to create a deeper sense of personal investment and discovery while exploring the mysterious island.

RiME is available for digital preorder now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam ahead of launch on May 26. It will arrive on the Nintendo Switch later this summer. More information can be found by visiting www.rimegame.com and following the title on FacebookTumblr and @RiMEGame on Twitter.
