AWARD-WINNING TINK PUTS THE COLOUR BACK INTO GAMING
Mimimi Productions to present their bright vision for the future of games at GamesCom 2012 with Tink, the crowd-funded action adventure exploding with colour and character
Munich, Germany – 25. July 2012 – Munich’s Mimimi Productions today coloured in a few more details of its irresistible forthcoming 3rd person action adventure Tink.  Currently in the early stages of development for Xbox Live® Arcade, PlayStation®Network, PC and Mac, Tink has already earned the twin honours of being named Game Connection Europe Selected Projects ‘Best Project 2012’ and being the project selected by Gambitious to launch its dedicated game crowd-funding platform.

The first playable prototype of Tink will be presented to public, media and investors at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, this coming August 15th and 16th.

In Tink, the player steps into the shoes of the eponymous hero, a fearless boy with the power to fill the world around him with dazzling colour. The creeping Bleakness is threatening to replace the vivid world Tink loves with a grey monochrome vista inhabited by unpleasant creatures utterly devoid of colour.  Armed with the colours red, green and blue, which give him the power to manipulate enemies’ emotions and the nature of objects around him, Tink embarks on an unforgettable journey to restore the rich rainbow of life to his world.

With Tink we wanted to create the kind of game that we miss playing in today’s climate of violent combat and bleak post-apocalyptic worlds,” said Johannes Roth, CEO and Founder at Mimimi Productions. “Our aim is to give players the same kind of feeling we had when we first played games like Banjo Kazooie, so it made sense to give our hero the power to bring colour back into his world, just as we want to do with gaming.  We’re sure there are lots of other gamers out there who want it too!

After 6 months of intense pre-production, Tink has recently entered the full production phase of its development, with the team now readying to present the first playable prototype to the crowds at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany, this August.  The game will be playable for the public on the Mediadesign Hochschule booth, Hall 10.1 Stand E044, with separate appointments for media and investors at booth J051 in business hall 4.2.

At Mimimi Productions, we’re convinced that playtesting is one of the most important parts of modern game development,” said Dominik Abé, Game Director at Mimimi Productions. “We’re very excited and of course nervous to be showing a playable version of Tink for the first time at GamesCom, and we can’t wait to have the feedback from the players. But first we have a lot of hard work to do!

Tink is the debut project for Gambitious, the innovative crowd-funding platform dedicated entirely to games.
Gambitious offers investors the unique opportunity to have a financial stake in the games it supports, creating a new level of stakeholder engagement with projects.
