TOKYO, Japan – December 8th, 2021 – Mobile rhythm game HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE! is now available for global audiences to download on iOS and Android devices. The free-to-play game, fully voiced in Japanese with English subtitles, features a wide array of original characters, music and storylines that are sure to delight fans of the world famous virtual idol, Hatsune Miku.

Players have engaged with the game throughout the lead up to today’s launch. During the two-week public beta test in October, more than 60,000 players engaged in the game across both iOS and Android. In November, fans worked together to unlock rewards by pre-ordering/pre-registering and following the game’s official channels, breaking the original milestone of 150,000 and achieving over 390,000 pre-orders and follows.
Thanks to the community efforts, 3,000 Crystals will be available to everyone for free at launch, as well as a Virtual Singer Costume Set, a Gacha ticket, Costume crafting materials and a timed exclusive outfit inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog.
In HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!, players can immerse in deep storylines with a cast of 20 unique characters in five bands, including Leo/need, MORE MORE JUMP!, Vivid BAD SQUAD, Wonderlands x Showtime, and Nightcord at 25:00. Players can also participate in regularly scheduled livestreamed virtual concerts featuring Hatsune Miku and other virtual singers like Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO and MEIKO. Hatsune Miku’s biggest hits, including “Tell Your World” by kz, “Melt” by ryo and “ROKI” by Mikito-P as well as brand new songs produced for the game will be featured in the game.
Players can tap to the rhythm and face challenges with five different difficulty modes for each track that can be played solo or with friends. By earning rewards and XP for completing challenges, players can level up and unlock additional character cards through the gacha system.
Following the launch on December 7th, events and extra songs will be added to the game to develop the story and diversify the challenge. SEGA has announced that players can expect a daily drop of songs from launch, with 39 songs being added to the game as the first big release of music content. Events focusing on different characters and groups will be released every eight days, with new gacha available.
The first one of them, called “First Star After the Rain”, will focus on the group Leo/need and is set to start on the 9th of December at midnight (CET). The key song for this event, Stella by artist JIN, will drop on the same day, followed by Near, Just Be Friends and many more.
