Hitbox, home to millions of video game live streamers and esports enthusiasts from around the world, is deepening its expansion into the esports realm with three strategic partnerships. Two new agreements include: a two-year broadcasting deal for all ESL-produced esports content; and the exclusive live streaming rights for all Russian and Portuguese DreamHack content. Additionally, game developer and publisher, Wargaming, has announced it will broadcast its biggest esports event of the year, the World of Tanks Grand Finals, on Hitbox on April 8 and 9.
“We are delighted to partner with these influential organizations within the esports arena,” said Martin Klimscha, CEO and co-founder of Hitbox. “Working with ESL, DreamHack, and Wargaming provides our global community with the unique content they want, while at the same time allows us to expand to an even larger worldwide audience.”
Martin continued: “The new partnership with ESL could not have been signed at a better time. Not only did it enable us to broadcast the 10th anniversary of Intel® Extreme Masters, the longest running international esports tournament series, but for the next two years we will continue to offer ESL streams ranging from sold-out stadium competitions to online league matches. ESL fans will finally have access to the fastest, most advanced chat experience, and the highest quality video streams in the industry.”
The next ESL-organized event to be streamed under the new agreement is Wargaming’s biggest World of Tanks tournament of the year, The Grand Finals 2016. Hitbox will provide the official stream to its worldwide community in English, Polish, and Russian.
The partnership with DreamHack, the largest digital gaming festival in the world, stems from Hitbox’s massive popularity in the Russian and Portuguese regions. Esports is growing exponentially in these communities, and Hitbox will deliver the official streams exclusively.
“We are very proud to partner with such high-profile esports organizations who value and recognize the importance of our technology and dedicated community,” added Klimscha. “Esports is a driving force for the industry, and Hitbox is on the cutting edge with much more to come.”
