Crunchyroll announces first of its kind partnership with AnimagiC

The ultimate anime destination joins forces with Germany’s top anime and manga convention for a groundbreaking partnership, starting from this year’s edition

May 22, 2024 Crunchyroll, the global brand providing fans with the ultimate anime experience, has announced today that it is partnering with AnimagiC, Germany’s top anime and manga convention, in a first-of-its-kind sponsorship.

Held yearly at the renowned Congress Center Rosengarten in Mannheim, Germany, AnimagiC has connected the creators of anime, manga, Japanese music, games and pop culture with their dedicated fans since its inception in 1999.
Each year, AnimagiC is sold out with 34,000 visitors in total.

For the very first time starting from this year’s edition, Crunchyroll is joining forces with the anime convention, bringing its own magic and fun in a partnership which will provide fans with the very best experience of both manga and anime worlds.

To mark the start of the partnership, Crunchyroll will attend this year’s AnimagiC with a range of exciting screenings and special guests, as well as extensive Crunchyroll visibility and branding within the convention. Crunchyroll will have its own, branded 500-seater screening room, named Crunchyroll Cinema, which will host exclusive panels with top International guests – as well as daily screenings of much loved Crunchyroll titles. During the convention, fans will also be able to take part in unmissable signing sessions with their favourite guests visiting all the way from Japan.

Speaking about this very special partnership, Crunchyroll Regional Marketing and Emerging Markets VIP Ariane Sunder says: “AniMagiC is truly a magical place for fans, creators, and licensors alike. We are thrilled to be part of this celebration of anime and manga, and can’t wait to share the latest seasonal announcements in our own dedicated Crunchyroll arena, introduce our guests from Japan, and most of all, share the best and latest anime content as AnimagiC’s partner in the Crunchyroll Cinema. We’re proud to work with AniMagiC to showcase how the power of anime connects individuals on a global scale.”

AnimagiC CEO Thomas Webler adds: “Myself and my whole Team are very excited to partner up with Crunchyroll, the world’s leading anime streaming service, to bring renowned guests of honor and their outstanding works to AnimagiC. The dedicated German-speaking fans can look forward to sensational guest and program announcements in the upcoming weeks. We will celebrate an amazing AnimagiC 2024 together and offer an outstanding Live-Event-Experience, supported by Crunchyroll.”
