    “Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team” Dream Championship 2022 Online Qualifiers Begin Friday, September 9th!

    – Round 1 Continues Until Friday, September 16th! Win 3 Matches to Advance! –

    Tokyo, Japan – September 7th, 2022 – KLab Inc., a leader in online mobile games, announced that its head-to-head football simulation game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team will hold the worldwide Dream Championship 2022 tournament and will kick off its online qualifiers starting Friday, September 9th.

    Online Qualifiers Overview

    Starting Friday, September 9th users who get 3 wins in the in-game Online Qualifiers Round 1, reach the top 5000 in the regional ranking in the Online Qualifiers Round 2 held the following week, and reach the top 8 in Round 3 held the week after that, will advance to the Final Regional Qualifiers*.

    *There are 4 blocks in the final regional qualifiers this year in accordance with the new in-game rating system and the final tournament quota. 

    In addition, the quota for advancing from the online qualifiers to the final regional qualifiers has also changed.

    Join the tournament from the in-game Online Qualifiers Round 1.

    *Conditions for participating apply such as being 18 years old or older (as of September 1, 2022). For details, please check in-app and the Dream Championship 2022 website.

    About Dream Championship 2022

    The Dream Championship is an official tournament for Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team hosted by KLab Inc. for players 18 years old and above. Originally held in 2019, this tournament was designed in response to the players desire to face off against strong opponents. The tournament uses the mobile game Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team available on the App Store and Google Play Store.

    This year marks its fourth installment which will be held exclusively online to decide who is the number one player in the world.

    The Online Qualifiers will be held in-game from Friday, September 9th. After that, the Online Final Regional Qualifiers will be held online and be divided into 4 blocks around the world.

    The top 8 players from the Online Final Regional Qualifiers, along with the winner of the Dream Championship 2021, and the 7 top-rated players in the application calculated at the end of August 2022, bring the total number of players to 16 who will compete in the Finals (single-elimination tournament format) to decide this year’s champion.

    About Captain Tsubasa

    Created by Yoichi Takahashi, “Captain Tsubasa” is a Japanese manga that centers on the sport of football. Since premiering in Shueisha’s landmark manga anthology Weekly Shonen Jump in 1981, the series has grown into a legend that has inspired and delighted countless football fans around the world for decades.
