Roubaix, France – June 11, 2026 – Imagine if one of the most remarkable cultural success stories came from the North of France! Ankama, often recognized for its iconic MMORPG, DOFUS (reaching 114 million registered accounts worldwide), and the animated series WAKFU (broadcast internationally), has built one of the most distinctive transmedia universes: the Krosmoz. Over the last quarter of a century, this universe has dominated French pop culture (and beyond), expanding across interconnected video games, board games, animated series, films, comics, manga, and webtoons.
To mark its 25th anniversary, Ankama is launching a summer celebration worthy of its community and creative legacy:

- “Ankama, de l’esquisse à l’épopée” – A major exhibition at the Cité internationale du cinéma d’animation d’Annecy (International Animation Film Center of Annecy) will take place from June 19th, 2026 through January 31st, 2027. The exhibition will showcase Ankama’s artistic journey through original art, screenings, exclusive previews and events featuring special guests.
More information can be found here, with ticketing details available from June 16, 2026.

- Ankama Convention at Japan Expo – From July 9th-12th, 2026, Ankama will take over more than 4,000 square meters at Japan Expo in Paris to greet fans with live performances, concerts, conferences, community activities and exclusive announcements.
More information can be found here.
Over the last 25 years, Ankama traced a rare trajectory in the French creative industry: An independent studio founded just outside of Lille – far from Paris – had successfully crafted a unique fantasy universe across video games, animation, publishing, and pop culture – all while remaining true to its identity and creative vision. Meanwhile, also fostering a vibrant and dedicated global fanbase that continues to champion its stories and characters around the world.
The Founder and Creative Director of Ankama, Anthony Roux (known as “ToT” by fans) reflects on the milestone:
“This 25th anniversary is first and foremost an opportunity to thank those who have accompanied us from the start: our players, viewers, and the communities that bring our universe to life. Certain fans discovered DOFUS as teenagers. Now they are parents and passing down our characters, stories and values to the next generation. We are proud of this legacy, transcending borders and generations. This summer will be an important moment for us to meet and connect with the community, but also to begin the next chapter with new projects that we look forward to sharing with the public.”
