Quarantine Zone passes 1.3 million wishlist checkpoint and heads to Steam libraries on January 12

The apocalyptic admin simulator Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is officially scheduled to launch on Steam on January 12 developer Brigada Games announced today.

Since its reveal in May, Quarantine Zone: The Last Check has spread like wildfire, amassing over 1.3 million wishlists on Steam and drawing nearly 2 million demo players.

In Quarantine Zone: The Last Check, players take on the role of a government agent stationed at a critical checkpoint in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Your job? Screen survivors, manage scarce resources, and make impossible moral decisions that determine who gets in—and who doesn’t.

Between juggling food, fuel, and defense systems, you’ll also face the human side of survival: trust, desperation, and the haunting consequences of every call you make.

And when the game launches you’ll find a whole host of infectious new features not present in the demo, including:

    • Use the new portable X-ray to scan a person’s internal organs for signs of infection, or check whether they’re hiding contraband where the sun don’t shine
    • With the new metiascope you can inspect peoples’ eyes for signs of the virus, or test if they have healthy reflexes with the new medical reflex hammer
    • Examine survivors with unknown symptoms in the laboratory to discover dangerous new signs of the virus
    • Send zombies to a cage and feed them corpses. Not just for the fun of it: the government will pay handsomely for them
    • With the new base management interface, oversee things from a bird’s eye perspective and manage all resources from a single interface. No more carts!
    • Zombies fall from rooftops: be ready to shoot them down
    • And many other improvements to defense and the overall experience

Quarantine Zone: The Last Check launches on Steam on January 12. A free demo is available now—get checked today!

    Game Overview

A deadly outbreak. A desperate population. And one overworked agent standing between survival and total collapse — you.

Armed with cutting-edge technology and your own gut instinct, you’ll decide who passes through and who gets turned away. One wrong call, and the infection slips past your post. One hesitation, and it’s over.

    SEE IT? SORT IT!

Use advanced screening tools to detect infection among terrified survivors. Spot hidden contraband, forbidden tech, and rare collectables as the crowd grows restless. Send the sick to quarantine, the healthy to safety — and the infected to their fate. Mercy is optional. Mistakes are fatal.

    COMMAND THE CATASTROPHE

Keep the camp alive as chaos closes in. Manage food, power, and medicine. Reinforce defenses. When the sirens blare, deploy armed drones to contain the swarm. Every smart decision earns you better gear, stronger defenses, and a fighting chance at tomorrow.

    LEARN. ADAPT. SURVIVE.

Even the infected have their uses. Harvest samples. Research the virus. Turn horror into progress — but every experiment has a cost. Will you save lives… or sacrifice them for the greater good?

    STIFF UPPER LIP

Guided by the anxious scientist Georgie, players will peel back the layers of a crumbling quarantine camp—where distorted radio signals, erratic orders, and unnerving patients hint at something deeply wrong beneath the surface. When an old acquaintance exposes whispers of secret experiments and staged evacuations, the illusion unravels, plunging the camp into chaos as a terrible truth emerges—one that blurs the line between infection and madness itself.
