Summer adventures take a new meaning in the August episode of InnoGames TV. InnoGames’ fantasy city-builder Elvenar explores an unlikely duo with the release of its new Guest Race today. Unlike past race additions (Dwarves and Fairies), Elvenar will release two creature types simultaneously for the first time ever: Orcs and Goblins. The studio has also released a video featuring Game Designer Timon and Graphic Artist Rike explaining the two races.

Today, InnoGames boosts its strategy game Grepolis with the release of their new event: Sparta vs. Hades. This macabre ingame experience centers around the god of the underworld himself and his quest to take over Sparta. InnoGames’ founding title, Tribal Wars, just began its 13th birthday celebration with 13 days of special events. InnoGames just announced the latest addition to Guild Expeditions, one of the latest features in their cross-platform title, Forge of Empires: The Guild Expeditions Negotiation Game. Before today, fighters were the only ones able to advance through the jungle-themed expedition map. Today InnoGames launched a new paladin system in its classic strategy MMO Tribal Wars. The system allows players not only to recruit up to ten paladins, but also level them up and specialize them for use on the battlefield and in villages. Today InnoGames launched an in-game event to celebrate this year’s Euro Cup - the Forge of Empires Soccer Cup. In the event, players shoot penalties and compete with their neighbors in order to receive bonuses or new, exclusive buildings. Today InnoGames announced to host the first ever large-scale game jam at Gamescom in Cologne: The InnoGames Jam, a 48-hour long event in the Congress Center. During the game jam, up to 300 participants from all over the world will team up and develop 75 entirely new games – from the very first idea to a playable product. The game jam starts on Wednesday, August 17 at 2pm and will end on Friday, August 19. In the afternoon that day, a jury will officially announce the winners. From now on until June 30, interested developers, game designers or artists can apply for the free submission process to become one of up to 300 participants. Those chosen to participate will receive a personal invitation via Eventbrite, where a game jam ticket can be booked. The Jam welcomes participants from all over the world and is centered on the idea of bringing more diversity to the games industry.

Today, InnoGames celebrates the first birthday of their fantasy city-builder Elvenar. Exactly one year ago, the online video games company launched Elvenar’s first international server. Since then, millions of players around the world have registered and the game currently supports over 20 languages.

From today on, players around the world can unlock unique technologies, units and buildings in the snowy era. For the first time in Forge of Empires’ history, the new era is split into four parts – each having its own release date. Peter Meyenburg, former EMEA Corporate PR Lead at Rakuten, Inc., has joined InnoGames as Head of PR with immediate effect. In this role, he will lead the department, which controls all external communication, as well as internal communication at the company’s Hamburg and Dusseldorf offices. Meyenburg will report directly to Chief Marketing Officer Christian Pern, and will be influential not only in employee relations, but in the representation of the InnoGames brand overall.

InnoGames held its second charity fund raising event this past weekend dedicated to the often overlooked art behind games. The art exhibition, which took place on April 16th in the company’s Hamburg headquarters, included a silent auction, where the public could bid on private art collections, as well as concepts from InnoGames’ own studios, and attend workshops lead by InnoGames artists. InnoGames just announced early details of its new cooperative gameplay feature in the cross-platform title Forge of Empires – the Guild Expeditions.The feature brings players together in the common cause of gathering Expedition Points through battles and negotiations. Successful guilds will be rewarded with Guild Power. The feature includes a vibrant and interactive map, which initially leads guilds through an ancient Jungle civilization.
